Tense (Noun) Simply is a method of verb that we use to express or show time. The time can be past, present or future, so when we speak English, it is expected to notice attention to the context of the time (the past / present / future) and use the verb that is appropriate in the sentence and the question. examples

Kinds of Tense
In general, there are 12 kinds of tenses, but some say there are 16 tenses. These tenses will be a group of 3 parts, namely:
- Past
- Present and
- Future
Past Tense
in Past Tense there are 4 Types of Tense :
- Simple Past Tense
- Past Continuous Tense
- Past Perfect Tense
- Past Perfect Continuous Tense
S + Past Simple (Verb 2)
S + was/were + Present participle (Verb+ing)
S + had + Past participle (Verb 3)
S + had + been + Present participle (Verb+ing)
Present Tense
in Present Tense there are 4 Types of Tense :
- Simple Present Tense

Conclusion of Tense
So the point is Tense is the way we express time, depending on what we are talking about and when it's time. Different time also different tenses we use, but don't get fixated on tenses. For example, we speak English with our friends, then our friend says the wrong word or does not match the context discussed.
